Don Dismuke

Don is a tax partner in the Forvis Mazars Atlanta office and leads the firm’s corporate tax team. Don has extensive experience in corporate taxation, merger and acquisition transaction planning, and international taxation and previously led the firm’s international tax team. His primary focus is advising on complex tax issues for publicly traded companies, large privately held companies, and fast-growing portfolio companies held by private equity firms. He also has significant experience with companies operating internationally and has proficiency in cross-border tax provision analysis (ASC 740).
Prior to joining the firm, he served as tax managing partner with the Detroit office of a national accounting firm in corporate and international tax services. Previously, Don also worked as a director of the U.S. tax practice for the Paris and Zurich offices of an international accounting firm where he advised large foreign-based multinational companies on international expansion, tax structuring, and structured finance.
Don serves as an editorial advisor for The Tax Advisor, and is a former professor at Georgia State University and also served the Governor of the State of Michigan as an appointed board member to the Michigan State Board of Accountancy.
