Dr. Vera Rödel is a German qualified lawyer holding a Master in Health and Medical Management. Being a lawyer and active in the pharmaceutical industry and the healthcare sector for more than 12 years, she was heading the Global Legal Neurology & Immunology and Cardio Metabolic & Endocrinology team within Merck Legal Healthcare prior to her current role. Before joining Merck in 2014 in 2015, she has been working at Boehringer Ingelheim and Linklaters LLP.

Early 2022, Dr. Vera Rödel took over the role as Global Lead Antitrust, a global function that leads and coordinates all antitrust related topics for Merck and is heading the Global Antitrust Expert Group within Merck Legal. Apart from supporting the General Counsel in reporting to top management and managing (potential) antitrust investigations and litigations, Dr. Vera Rödel is inter alia responsible for developing antitrust strategies including enhancing the global antitrust framework. Further, she is actively driving advocacy for antitrust topics and alignment with respective internal and external industry stakeholders, with authorities and law makers. Since 2023 Frau Dr. Rödel has assumed additional responsibility for Risk Governance and Management.
