Christoph Hock, Head of Tokenisation and Digital Assets

Christoph Hock hat zum 1. Januar 2024 die neue Funktion des Head of Tokenisation and Digital Assets (PM) bei Union Investment übernommen. In der Branche gilt er als bekannter Fürsprecher der Blockchain-Technologie sowie der Tokenisierung von Vermögenswerten. Christoph hat die Entwicklung dieses Themenfelds innerhalb von Union Investment bereits in der Vergangenheit maßgeblich mitgestaltet. In seiner Rolle treibt er den Auf- und Ausbau der Digital Asset Strategie in Kombination mit digitalen Zahlungsmechanismen sowohl innerhalb des Portfoliomanagements als auch unternehmensweit über die gesamte Wertschöpfungskette hinweg voran. Christoph Hock verantwortet die Koordination aller Aktivitäten im Bereich Portfoliomanagement, die mit der Implementierung von Tokenisierung und digitalen Vermögenswerten in den Portfolios von Union Investment in Zusammenhang stehen. Er berichtet direkt an die Leitung dieser Geschäftseinheit sowie an ein Vorstandsmitglied von Union Investment.
Christoph schloss sein Studium mit einem Bachelor in Bankwesen ab und erlangte 2022 einen MBA-Abschluss der St. Galler Business School. Er verfügt über mehr als 25 Jahre internationale Erfahrung im Investmentbanking, Handel und Management und hat für Unternehmen auf der Buy- und Sell-Side gearbeitet.
Christoph kam 2014 als Leiter des Multi-Asset Trading Desk zu Union Investment. Zuvor war er Leiter des Execution Sales bei der Barclays Bank. Er war Gründer, Partner und Co-CEO/ Leiter des Portfoliomanagements und Tradings bei Tungsten Capital Management, einem Hedgefonds-Unternehmen. Davor war Christoph Leiter des Proprietary Equity Derivatives Desk bei J.P. Morgan.

Christoph Hock has taken on the new role of Head of Tokenisation and Digital Assets (PM) at Union Investment on January 1, 2024. In the industry, he is a well-known advocate of blockchain technology and the tokenisation of assets. Christoph has already played a key role in shaping the development of this area within Union Investment in the past. In his role, he is driving the development and expansion of the digital asset strategy in combination with digital payment mechanisms both within portfolio management and company-wide across the entire value chain. Christoph Hock is responsible for coordinating all activities in the portfolio management business unit related to the implementation of tokenisation and digital assets in Union Investment’s portfolios. He reports directly to the head of this business unit and to a member of the Union Investment Board of Management.
Christoph graduated with a bachelor’s degree in banking and obtained an MBA degree from St Galler Business School in 2022. He has more than 25 years of international investment banking, trading and management experience, having worked for companies on the buy- and sell-side.
Christoph joined Union Investment in 2014 as Head of Multi-Asset Trading Desk. Before that he was head of Execution Sales at Barclays Bank. He was founder, partner and co-CEO/ Head of Portfolio Management and Trading at Tungsten Capital Management, a hedge fund company.
